A young boy's fantasy, inspired by 10Cent comic books, read as a child.
Was there a drug he should take, an invisibility cream, or maybe a disappearing ray?
Could it be true?
Was it possible a person could wander the streets invisible to the world?
It was much later in life, when he discovered invisibility.

By then I'm sure he didn't want to be invisible anymore.
Cool picture. Nice 55. I like it.
I like it. I used to daydream what I could get up to if I was invisible, a secret crime fighter the bad guys couldn't catch.
That photo is awesome!
My 55 is Everything I Lack
I like it,
good question to think about,
Happy Friday!
But can he turn it off when he wishes? Great 55. ;-)
Think I heard something on Discovery.
We have enough hidden cameras if you asked me.lol
Superb 55!
Keep the FUNNIES in your weekends!

ha. that is awesome and funny...love the pic and the story you brought to it...invisibility would be cool as long as you could turn it off...
Being invisible is no fun at all. The photo you used with your 55today is perfect. A lot said using only 55 words...Great 55. /Jo.
The dream is fun; the reality, not so much.
That is so much irony packed into such few words! Excellent 55ve!
Great 55. And terrific image to go with it!!
Here's mine Take Pleasure - 101
Have a super terrific weekend.
Words packed with meaning. It's only as we grow older that we become invisible. Or, what I mean to say is the young are invincible and the old are invisible.
LOVE that photo!
Cool 55 & pic - Did you write the story for the pic?
well written -- the sad part is, i feel it's more true than we want to see or admit to.
Yep, I have felt that "invisibility" in a complete way, not from the public, but from a teenaged step-child. Thank GOD that is in the past, but I shall NEVER forget!
As the result, I always ALWAYS, get around to greet the "new person" in any room, in any situation...the one who "looks" lonely.
Thanks for the reminder! GREAT "55"
Ah, invisibility can mean many things, can't it?
Enjoyed that - and the pic.
Poignant. Very well done! That one resonates.
A very good 55 but quite sad. You shouldn't live a full and long life to become invisible and yet still alive.
Flash 55 - Help?
Quite a comment on how we treat our elderly. My 55 is HERE.
that was indeed deep, how people can go on all their lives without ever being noticed.
Great photo Mr. Buzzard! Invisible is fun when you are young...not so fun when you're old. Good 55. Thanks!
This 55 ROCKED Buzzard!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
Everyone, Thanks again for your encouragement.
It was indeed a statement on our treatment of the elderly. It seems we all become somewhat invisible with age. Especially the infirm.
As for the picture, it was certainly my inspiration for this story. I collect what I consider great, weird and unusual photos for my writers inspiration. Each week I use a few of them to write fictional stories, and I am especially fond of creating a story around a photo for flash 55.
I am glad you all enjoyed the moment.
Parents of teenagers know this only too well.
I used to want to be able to just disappear - become invisible at will. Today I face life on life's terms and no longer look for that invisibility ray or whatever.....
Like this 55.

Good job! Elderly are so often immersed in invisibility. And don't want to be. But as youngster--we thought it would be cool! D
I like this! I think we all have had that feeling of wanting to be invisible, but for me never for too long, and as you saw i now totally gave up on it :)
A very thoughtful 55. There are certainly times in our lives when invisibilty seems preferable. But then, when we want to be seen, and for whatever reason aren't... that's heartbreaking.
oh my, sadly this is too true.
The picture is perfect for the post. Hope he becomes visible again to someone, or realizes he still is.
Thought-provoking and cleverly expressed.
I think we're all invisible at times and in different social settings. Sometimes that's desirable.
Sometimes dreams come true but by then it's a little too late eh? ;)
Wow! That one is all too true.
Hmmm... I find this one so sad. And true. Well done.
My 55 is up here.
Hi, Buzzard, just paying a visit in return for your surprise drop-in at my place. I love your 55, as well as the Community News (very droll sense of humor you have). You're very funny, but you've made a very strong statement about our failings in regards to our elderly and infirm generation. It was good to meet you.
Chris
You write truly excellent 55s--they are free-form poems. A tip o' the cap to you.
I love it & the pic. This immediately made me think of the homeless, elderly, hungry people that I pass everyday. I'm caught up in my own world...and yet at times I feel just as invisible as they are.

Your 55 this week touched me so much! I'm passing on this award to you.
Wise Words Award
I'm slowly slipping into that invisible society...but I won't go quietly! :D Thoughtful & powerful 55!!
Again, Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and the awards given me by Ji, and PattiKen.
Sorry I'm so late. Invisibility would be great but just for a little while.
