"Lori! Do I have to spell it out for you?" Her mom stated with firm conviction.
Lori was relentless, "but mom, all the kids are going; it's not fair!"
"Lori, that's enough; we made plans for the family this evening. You're not going."
Lori left the table hurriedly, no longer interested in eating her lunch.

Gee, this sounds familiar . . .
oh wow...the pic adds a 1000 words...sometimes saying no is the best thing that can happen...and it might save a life more than ruin it. nice 55.
mine is up!
Kids have to hear no once in a while, or else they'll think you don't care.
Excellent 55 Buzzard.
Thanks for playing, thanks for visiting, loved the pic, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
Haha...was my son eating at your place?!?
Great 55! :)
She couldn't stomach that!
I think I'll skip lunch today.

this made my day, thanks for letting me know someone out there is also living in dramaland :)
Well, the picture says it all! Nice 55, Buzz.
I remember those arguments well. Always won, of course.
Mine is up now too. Looks like everyone is trying to get done by midnight!
I don't know what came over me, but when I read it I was like "that's so unfair! why doesn't she get to go there too!" i know that was not the effect I was supposed to have, but i'm a teenager too and I can relate more to the girl's point of view.
It happens a lot, doesn't it?
Alphabetti Spaghetti - another name for life! Clever 55...
I can totally relate to this. :) Well done... /Jo.
I had this when I took my son to school at 11, we were late so he didn't to get the desk he wanted so his life was ruined - it wasn't! See if you can spot the lyrics in my 55 words
i've thought that very same thing!
perfect 55, in your own way!
cheers1

mine is here.
thank you in advance for the time!
Oh, that is SO teenager-ish! The only reason mine never did it was that they didn't think of it! Excellent 55.
Awesome!! I have two teenagers, so this rings true. My 55 is also up. You can find it HERE.
I love kids...I seem to be a kid magnet. Kinda weird sometimes since we weren't able to have kids.
Then again, I'll never have someone glare at me and shout, "It's all YOUR fault!" :)
Have a good weekend.
hey you, i'm still trying to recover from your searing faux pas...it's hubby who just turned 55, not me!! all vanity aside i did hit the big 53 a few weeks ago but the volunteer firefighters in my town didn't seem to be overly concerned...i'm just saying ;)
have yourself a great weekend!
I have two teenage daughters too.
Thank GOD I never have to hear those words yet.
Clever 55!
Hang in there!
Mine is here
hugs
